Tribute

William 'Bill' James Esbensen, III, born November 6, 1965, tragically passed away in a car accident on April 22, 2024.
Bill was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and dear friend. He is survived by his wife Diana, their sons Kyle (Jessie), Brandon (Mariel), and “adopted” son Donny Alves-Fortes (Tessa), mother-in-law Mary Alice, brothers Ralph, Michael (Lisa), and Richard, brother-in-law Rich (Tina), nieces Kortney (Kenny), Taylor (Logan), Grace (Vincent), Lauren, and Anna, nephews Cale (Sabrina) and Michael Jr. (Brittany), his dog Cesar, and his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma, father, William, father-in-law, Ron Pelkey, and his dogs Buster, Mickey, Lobo, Sheena, Kola and cat Gracie.
Words cannot possibly capture the boundless energy that he brought to this world, as Bill was larger than life. He leaves behind a legacy of passion, perseverance, and love.
Bill's life was a testament to his passion and kindness, as he had many hobbies and talents. In his garage, he found solace and purpose restoring classic hot rods with a dedication that preserved history with every detail, earning him accolades like 1st Place in Class at his debut show with his 1970 Mach 1 Mustang. As a friend and father figure too many, he was unwavering in his support and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or share his expertise. Sharing his love of music, especially Pearl Jam, was another source of joy. Amidst life's simplicity, he often enjoyed late-night ice cream sessions and naps on the couch with his beloved dogs.
His enthusiasm for his work, hobbies, and friends, was matched only by his love for his family, especially his wife Diana and his sons, Kyle and Brandon, whom he was immensely proud of.
Bill will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing, and may we honor him by living with the same passion and energy he embodied.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Bill at Gem Center for the Arts in Boise, Idaho on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 4pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Bill to Boise Bully Breed Rescue https://www.boisebullybreedrescue.com/donate and support your local medical marijuana initiatives.
